Boys and girls, we are only less than two weeks away from the Malaysia Campus League (MYCL)! So far, we have announced the venue for the finals, we have the program ready, we have even revealed the hosts that will pump the crowd up on the day but we are only missing one thing - the competing teams!
Overall, we have 14 League of Legends teams competing with two of the them representing Sunway University! These teams will be fighting it out to win cash prizes worth RM4000 plus some pretty sweet Cooler Master peripherals AND the chance to play at LICC, China!
But before we get overexcited about who will win these awesome rewards, let's get to know some of the visiting teams first:
1. METRO Brigade
This team of six will be representing Politeknik METrO Kuantan and they are ready to show the crowd what they've got. These boys are new to each other but they are getting along really well.
"We are still in the process of getting to know each other but we are happy and we joke around all the time."
They are passionate about their game and is lucky to have the support of their lecturer, Mr Asyraf. Will they bring the crown back to Pahang? We'll just have to wait and see...
2. Multimedia University
Self-proclaimed underdogs of the competition from Multimedia University, they believe in working together to win.
"Teamwork makes dream work," says the captain of the team.
Other than that, they work hard to improve their games by observing opponents' play styles and by making adjustments to their own game play.
The team from University Sains Malaysia (USM) is new to collegiate championships and they can't wait to experience the whole competition. They believe that the strength of their team doesn't come from how well they play but it comes from the challenge of playing with other players at an elevated level of competition. The team values optimism and perseverance.
"We've had friendly matches to observe our weaknesses and we use those observations to keep improving ourselves."
4. Team Last Minute
Synergy and communication - these are the strength of their team. Team Last Minute will be representing UNIKL in the MYCL finals and they are coming into the competition prepared. These group of friends have joined a few tournaments in the past and said that they have learned a lot from previous mistakes.
"Before this we always lose because of bad laning and miscommunication but with our new shot caller, who is our jungler, we are getting better at laning phases and ganking."
5. Potato Crackers (PoTS)
Representing SEGi, Potato Crackers is confident that they will wow the crowd with their performance. The teammates are all about having a good time in game.

Their team strength lies in their flexibility. Even though there are differences in ages, they have learned to manage themselves and to constantly practice.
6. Digiminds - Monash
The Monash boys wants you to be ready for them. The group of friends know each other quite well and they share their love for the game. Together, they decided to participate in the MYCL qualifier to gain some experience in a competitive LOL tournament.
