As the curtains draw to a close on the B Division Quarterfinals, we finally have two of our Semifinalists locked down. Chua Chu Kang Secondary School and West Spring Secondary School both won their Winner Bracket series convincingly to advance into the B Division Semifinals that will be happening on 23 June. No quarter was given over the past two days as each series ended on a 2-0 note. You could tell each school played their hearts out, pulling out all the stops (including role swaps) to keep their hopes and dreams alive.
To see their dominance in action, you can check out all the VODs at our SGCL microsite.
Unfortunately, with the Loser Brackets concluded on 6 June, it meant the end of the line for both Ang Mo Kio Secondary School and Hong Kah Secondary School as they were eliminated from our campus league after two consecutive defeats. Although Geylang Methodist School (Secondary) and Tanglin Secondary School lost their series, they are still not completely out of the picture. Tomorrow’s matches will signify the end of the B Division Quarterfinals and remains as a last bastion of hope for these four remaining schools.
Throughout the four days of matches that we've had so far, Westwood Secondary School remains the only school to force their opponents into a full 3 game series. Cless has made a name for his Renekton as he “remains in a Cless of his own” and it is no secret that their previously lauded teamwork and camaraderie have made them a formidable force to fight against. Despite being pit against Tanglin Secondary School tomorrow, who had always received support from our prophet poros previously, it seems like this time, the odds are in Westwood Secondary’s favour.
Thankfully, it seems like the team remains relatively unaffected by the attention they have been receiving after garnering a name for themselves. Still as down to earth and silly as ever, the team looks to knuckle down and take down all who stand in their way. Unfortunately, their Marksman (Racin, who showed an impressive Ashe in their game against Hong Kah Secondary School) might not be able to perform at his full potential tomorrow due to a fever of 39°C. Will he be able to recover in time to help Westwood grapple their way into the Semifinals? Tune in to http://bit.ly/SGCLLive at 6PM on Jun 9 to see if they will survive this trial (although it seems like it’s out of the frying pan and into the fire for them as they meet Chua Chu Kang Secondary School in the Semifinals even if they were to advance)
With 10,525 predictions so far, it looks like our resident prophet poros have all been awoken and are stepping up their prediction game. Will you be the one to win a Razer Blackwidow Chroma V2 or a Razer Mamba Tournament Edition? Find out more here: http://bit.ly/M1Pickem
